About Us

History

Ethan, the man behind the operation, has been raising goats since elementary school. It all began when he was 7 years old and asked his dad for a set of ponies to pull an old pony cart. Instead of ponies... Ethan got a set of goats... Buster and Daisy... the rest is history.

Current Operations

Today we have a commercial meat goat herd that consists of roughly 300 mother does. In 2020 we took a leap and added roughly 160 does, we added another large chunk in Summer and Fall of 2022.

Our Herd

Our mother does are a mix of Boer, Kiko and Spanish bloodlines. For hardiness we run Kiko Bucks across our does, who come from reputable bloodlines out of Illinois.

For showmen and women who are looking for traditional Boer animals, we do run a few SHUSH Boer Bucks and have a limited number of wethers available each spring.

2000-2004

Cart Goats

Ethan started raising goats  when he was 7 years old. He asked his dad for a set of ponies to pull an old pony cart that had been around his family farm for years. Instead of ponies... Ethan got a set of goats... Buster and Daisy.

2004-2007

Pack Goats

Four years later Ethan started growing his goat herd.  He added a few alpine breeding goats with a goal of raising pack goats. Ethan spent a few years showing off his pack goats and cart companions at the county fair.

2012-2014

Off to College

In 2012 Ethan left to attend Casper College in Wyoming. At this point he had grew his herd to roughly 35 Boer breeding does. While he was away, his mom maintained his herd.

2014-2018

New Beginnings

When Ethan returned from college he had new experiences as well as a degree under his belt. He was eager to try new herd and pasture management techniques. At this point Ethan continued to grow his herd of Boer does while implementing more rotational grazing.

2018-Present

Commercial Production

In 2018 Ethan married Faith, as they started to plan for their future together, it was clear that the goat herd was going to be a large part. The couple really began to hunker down and think about how they could grow their operation without increasing man power. This is largely why the Kiko and Spanish bloodlines were introduced.

2007-2012

Boer Meat Goats

As an avid 4H member, Ethan was ready to raise his own market animals and thus began the Bar O Bar Livestock meat goat herd. This is when Ethan dove heavily into producing Boer goats, the most well known meat breed.
