Ethan George

Agriculture has been a part of my life since before I was born. My father is the 4th generation to operate his family's farm. Agriculture is my heritage and my future.
One of my favorite things about life in Agriculture is something that my father taught me. Every day is like Christmas… you never know what you’re going to get. You must be flexible, a jack-of-all-trades, and always ready for adventure.
I consider myself a farmer, a hired hand and a small business owner. With my wife at my side I own and operate Bar O Bar Livestock. In addition to running a small business of my own, I also work for Foothills Farm, which is owned by my parents.

In summer of 2014 I returned home to the family farm after spending two years at Casper College in Casper, Wyoming. It was there, while I was studying on a full-ride athletic scholarship (for Livestock Judging), that I realized how much agriculture has influenced my life path.

It is my dream that one day I will inherit the family legacy, and build upon it. I hope that one day, when my time is done, I have something to pass on to my children. But, until that time comes, I will continue to build my own business with my wife, work hard, and learn alongside my dad.

Unlike Ethan, I did not grow up on a farm, and prior to dating Ethan, I had only a limited amount of experience in agriculture. Growing up, my grandparents always had a few beef steers and the occasional horse. A couple summers in high school I drove tractor for my friends dad. That was always the extent of my agricultural experience... until I met Ethan.

I never really saw myself living life on a farm. I always hoped to have a few acres and pasture pets, but being a full blown farm wife was not something I saw on my bingo card. At the beginning of my journey with Ethan, I was really dragging my feet at the idea (he was very persistent in pursuing me). As time passed I grew in appreciation for his lifestyle and eventually I too began to love it. Now, I could not imagine life any other way. I fall more in love with this lifestyle each day.
A life in Ag is not for the faint of heart. It comes with many sacrifices, heart breaks, and struggles... but it is a beautiful one. I have a lot of learning to do, but lucky for me, I have the BEST teacher and I am so thankful to be on this journey with him!
